    Description

Signal One MilSpec 1030 transceiver - Excellent condition.  ----
Here is your chance to own a very high performance Signal One MilSpec 1030 transceiver, one of 168 built (s/n 0107330) being offered for sale.  This transceiver is very collectable and rare.  It was built in competition to the Collins KWM-380.  This rig is loaded with all available options including all mechanical filters and the high power 200 watt twin blower option.  I've included a picture of the radio with the external speaker and microphone which are not included in this auction.
This MilSpec 1030 is in excellent condition and has been well maintained for the past 40 years.  All service bulletins and modifications were completed in the 1980's and 90's by Paul Kollar.
I am the second owner and the original owner purchased this from Payne Radio in Missouri in 1982.  This is the general coverage model with full transmit on all general coverage frequencies including the WARC bands.
The radio has been  in active use until December 2022.  It is in correct alignment and puts out the full 200 watts with ease and is an absolute joy to operate on  SSB and CW.  The built-in RF audio processor gives it powerful audio that is very pleasing from the reports I've received.  I've rarely used my KPA-1500 amplifier with it as it was not necessary.  The CW break-in is fantastic, fast and quiet.  I much prefer this rig over operating the KWM-380 as the Collins does not feature full break-in.
There is one problem presently with it and that is the T/R vacuum relay is stuck on in transmit mode and a checkout of the filter board shows both the RJ-1A Jennings transmit relay and the small receiver reed relay next to it are both energized with voltage.  That problem must be resolved.
I've included a picture of the T/R filter board on top of the radio.  Special extenders are not necessary for service as the boards pull out of their slots for servicing.  Most IC's are plug in for easy replacement.
For that reason I'm offering this for auction as-is for parts only with no reserve.  I will charge a flat rate 5 for FedEX ground shipping to the lower 48 USA only.  Payment is required within 3 days after the auction close or it will be re-listed.  The unit will be carefully packed and double boxed and insured.  Signed receipt for delivery will be required.  I can ship this to your home address or to your closest FedEX store which works good so you can pick it up at your convenience.
The rig is not only rare, but it is a pleasure to operate and it shows you how technologically advanced Signal One was.  I still have two other Signal One stations that I'm using.
