This Very Scarce Date 1872 Indian Cent is Borderline Uncirculated with some original luster and just the faintest trace of high point rub on the cheek, BUT is next to impossible to show in an online image due to the really dark chocolate toning. The dark images give and idea of the toning but don't show the detail. The scanner-produced lightened images show the detail but make the coin look motley and unattractive. Upon close examination, the coin has a great look with excellent surfaces showing only one tiny tic and a tiny hairline or two. Plenty of original luster shows, even with the dark toning. This coin has to be seen first hand. The reverse shows some cloudiness towards the center. No signs of cleaning or tampering. We grade the coin a solid AU+ with the dark toning noted.
