    Algae Shield and algae can't coexist. The special algicide formula of Algae Shield disperses evenly so every ounce of your water is protected against algae. This algaecide gets added to your pool water once a month and you will not need to worry about black algae or any algae in your pool or spa any longer. Most algae products on the market are made for use after an outbreak of algae occurs. Algae Shield actually
    prevents
    ugly green or black algae water.
    Algae Shield is intended for use in swimming pools treated with chlorine, bromine or salt chlorination.
    Product Dosage
    Algae Shield is added to your pool once every 30 days.
    For Pools:
    1 ounce per 1,000 gallons of water, once a month.
    To treat existing algae bloom add Algae Shield at a rate of 2 ounces per 1,000 gallons of water, run filter for 48 hours and then add a standard chlorine shock to oxidize any dead algae.
    For Spas or Hot Tubs:
    Do not use in hot tubs or spas
    Important:
    Do not exceed the recommended dosage rate.
    Do not use Algae Shield in pools treated with Baquacil, SoftSwim or other biguanide products. Algae Shield should not be used in conjunction with other algae treatments, flocculants, or metal-out products.
